Ngaire Kernohan
Librarian and Office Administration
Starting work at Ngatapa School in 2010 was a turning point for Ngaire.
I have participated in many numeracy, literacy and library courses enabling me to keep abreast of latest teaching methods and techniques, enabing me to continually meet our students needs.
This spring sees the school taking on our second year of developing an Edible Garden as part of our Enviroschools project. I am heavily involved in this process and enjoyed it enormously. We started from scratch by raising seedlings in glasshouses, potted them on then planted out into gardens and tubs. The children have created a large plan for our future garden which needs many hands to make light work. Feel free to join us on our adventure into feeding our community.
2011 brings new challenges and advances. A BOT funded junior teacher, a new community garden and creating an educational environment that children demand to stay on in is our next big challenge.
Ngatapa School is a great place to work with warm, friendly, well mannered children and supportive parents and community.
